Magic of Christmas - not only for families - but also with an original teaching proposal for schools: at "Grotta di Babbo Natale - Santa's Grotto" in Ornavasso,Verbania - Lake Maggiore, pupils will experience the emotions of Christmas discovering the history, nature, theater.
In Ornavasso, on Lake Maggiore, from November 19 to December 28, 2016, it opens the Santa's Grotto Park.
You can meet Santa Claus not only in his cave but also in the Park, whilst parading with his reindeer.
A dream for all children and not only: Santa's Grotto, one of the largest events of Christmas in Italy, brings new excitement to the tens of thousands of families every year many charming woods overlooking Lake Maggiore and Lake Mergozzo for a unique experience.
For the first time, visitors will be able to meet the real Santa Claus even while parading with their reindeer - true - within the 20,000 square meter park filled with animals, from camels to Snowy Owls. Eight trains "Reindeer Express" will link in a continuous cycle, from 9.00 to 18.30, the center of Ornavasso with Santa Claus Park, the great Nativity, the Land of Toys with Christmas markets covered, the Santa Christmas theater, with the largest Musical.
The authenticity has made this unique event, which attracts every year visitors from all over Europe: the trails in the woods, where they run the squirrels, the underground tunnels of the Park, the Twergi, the gnomes of Ornavasso mountain, Santa's helpers, many child and personally deliver the diploma of "Bravo Child", producers and craftsmen engaged in the curd cheese or in woodworking.
The 2016/17 edition offers the opportunity for the schools to visit the ancient underground quarry from which was also extracted the marble for Milan Cathedral (Duomo of Milan), the underground tunnels of the military fortifications of the First World War, the theater and music with a fabulous Christmas Musical, animals and nature, reindeer camels and - of course - excited by visiting the extraordinary artistic crib, enriched this year with the history of the marble of the Duomo in Milan and...meeting Santa Claus in person, all inside of his cave, or while parading with the reindeer in the Park.
After the walk in the park, we can visit the Santa's Grotto, formed in ancient underground quarry from which it was extracted also marble for Milan Cathedral. The history of the marble of the Duomo of Milan is also a dedicated area of the "Madonna della Guardia" Sanctuary, that the entrance to the Park is home to the largest Nativity reflection of Italy, entered in the reproduction of a village of 600 square meters, with statues and life-size business.
A "world fit for children size" where they can not miss the toys, the Land of Toys to Toys Factory, all covered and heated areas to ensure the event in all weather conditions.
